Kloster Marienhöh hideway and spa
South from Moselle valley, near the gemstone capital Idar Oberstein, in the Hunsrück Nature Reserve the monastery Marienhöh is located. From the monastic sanctuary of Marie sisters who lived here until 2002 a hotel was build tha is aware of its tradition which is incooperated into its usage in an spacial way.
Historic half-timbered constructions and stone walls have been extensively renovated, the interior is dominated by sunny colors and fabrics, combined with exceptional accessories. The old refectory delighted his guests as a romantic monastery tavern. Marienhöh monastery is even a nice hideaway for hikers and golfers, provides best opportunitys for celebrations and conferences and is certified as exceptionally chield-friendly.
The buildings of cloister Marienhöh form a group round a historical cross garden which is used in summer as an outside restaurant. The "noble abbey", a 4-storied half-timbered building, is a centre of the internal layout. Here, in the ground floor the restaurants are situated, on the first floor the conference rooms and about that winning comfort rooms and maizesonnet suites.
The small basilica offers a special frame for conferences, concerts, weddings and celebrations. The entrance of the cloister lies near the pilgrims lounge in the missionary's house whose guest-rooms remind a little of the colonial age, crowned from the "Holy mind SPA" in the uppermost floor.
