After a recreational holiday Paul Lechler, entrepreneur from Stuttgart, found the climate of Freudenstadt and its environment so healthful, that he bought some ground from the city to build the mainbuilding of „Kurhaus Palmenwald“ and a residental house for himself and his family.
Approximately 100 years after it was built as a spa hotel, by the entrepreneur and social reformer Paul Lechler from Stuttgart, the palace resembling building shows its former glory in styles of "the Founder Epoch" and Art Nouveau aera again since 2010, after a moving history of multiple uses.
