Gut Ising
Gut –Ising Hotel is beautifully positioned on a slight rise overlooking Lake Chiemsee from the eastern shore, with spectacular views of the Alps in the background and the famous Chateau Herrenchiemsee close by.
The stunning natural beauty that surrounds “the Bavarian Sea” - Lake Chiemsee, the outstanding range of sport opportunities on the impressive 160 hectare property, as well as the personal warm atmosphere of this historic hotel, are some of the elements which distinguish Gut-Ising and make it unique in Germany.
Only an hour’s drive from Munich or half an hour from Salzburg, Gut-Ising is particularly suited for riders, golfers and dog lovers, as well as catering for special events, meetings and conferences. Gut-Ising Hotel is akin to a country manor, which has grown along with history and offers a rural country ambience mixed with elegance, crowned by the kitchen that is famous through out the Chiemgau region.
The area where Gut-Ising lies has long been a desirable and hospitable destination, stretching back for more than 2,000 years. During the past centuries, it was here that travellers, dealers, legionaries and others who used the old Roman road from Salzburg to the west found protection, security and always a richly covered table.
The old Roman villa – Usinga, has been transformed over time into Gut-Ising Hotel, a modern refuge of old Bavarian hospitality. You can still experience this rich history in the restaurant - The Golden Plough, on the various floors of the old mansion and in other buildings that now house the hotel’s 103 rooms of individual styles.
